An emergency 112 alert has been issued to residents near the fire that broke out in Viotia, central Greece, on Saturday, urging them to remain vigilant and await instructions by the authorities.
A fire broke out in a forest area near Agios Vasileios, a seaside settlement on the northeastern coast of the Gulf of Corinth.
The Fire Department has mobilized 51 firefighters with 17 fire engines, two crews on foot from the 4th EMODE, two water-dropping aircraft and two helicopters.
The local government has sent water tankers at the scene.
