A fire broke out midday Sunday in a forested area near Corinth, in the Pefkali region, prompting authorities to issue an emergency 112 alert instructing residents to evacuate and move towards Sofiko via the Corinth-Epidaurus highway.
No casualties or property damage have been reported, while firefighters described the blaze as large in scale.
A strong firefighting force has been deployed, including nearly 20 fire engines, seven aircraft and two helicopters, as efforts continue to contain the fire.
