According to the group, sustained public engagement remains necessary to compel the government to confront the country's security challenges with urgency and competence.

The Take-It-Back (TIB) Movement has welcomed the release of the students and teachers abducted in Oyo State after spending 53 days in captivity, describing their freedom as a relief to their families and communities.

The movement however insisted that Nigerians deserve a country where such incidents do not occur in the first place.

In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Sanyaolu Juwon, the movement said while it shared in the joy of the victims' safe return, the prolonged period they spent in the hands of kidnappers exposed what it described as the Nigerian government's failure to fulfill its constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property.

The statement read, "The Take It Back Movement welcomes the safe release of the students and teachers abducted in Oyo State after spending 53 harrowing days in captivity.
