The group commended the Nigerian Army for its recent tactical breakthrough in the North-East, which led to the liberation of 360 citizens from the iron grip of Boko Haram terrorists in the rugged terrains of the Mandara Mountains in southern Borno State.
The President Bola Tinubu-led government has been urged to ensure the immediate and unconditional release of abducted schoolchildren, teachers and residents across Nigeria in a bid to salvage the already deteriorated security situation.
A civil society organisation, Prayer and Support for the Nigerian armed forces and other security agencies (PSNAFOSA) also enjoined Tinubu to issue a stern warning to political leaders to end the exploitation of national insecurity for political mileage.
In a press statement signed by the group convener, Ambassador Mary Abayomi-Fatile, the civic support organisation hailed the liberation of hundreds of Borno State residents recently but maintained that true victory remains distant when innocent schoolchildren and teachers languish in terrorist dens.
