The pro-Yoruba group, Yoruba Leaders of Thought, has lauded President Bola Tinubu, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and the security agencies for rescuing pupils and teachers abducted from schools in the Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The Tajudeen Olusi-led group, in a statement signed by its National Secretary, Mr Bayo Aina, made available in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, described the rescue operation which involved all security agencies, vigilantes and the Amotekun Corps as “a reflection of the good works that the Nigerian Armed Forces have been doing to make the country safe in the face of the escalated activities of bandits across the nation”.

Aina stated, “It is heartwarming that our security agencies were able to rescue these children and their teachers who have been in captivity for over 54 days. It is heartwarming that no ransom was paid for the release of the abductees, which further shows that the security agencies’ operation was top-notch.

“This singular action has made us proud of our military and further assures Nigerians that we have a military that is capable of protecting lives and properties in the country. We laud their effort, just as we commend President Tinubu for his leadership qualities,” he said.
