Western and Central Northern Bulgaria will see mostly sunny weather on Thursday, while rain and thunderstorms are expected mainly in southern and eastern areas, according to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology.
Before noon, precipitation will continue in parts of southeastern Bulgaria. Later in the day, clouds will increase as cumulus and storm clouds develop, bringing short-term rainfall, thunderstorms and a possibility of hail in some locations.
Winds from the northwest will gradually weaken. In eastern Bulgaria, they will shift to a moderate northeasterly direction. Temperatures will range between 26°C and 31°C, with around 26°C expected in Sofia.
Mountain areas will remain mostly sunny during the morning, but clouds will build up over the southern massifs after midday. Brief showers and thunderstorms are possible, accompanied by moderate northwestern winds. Temperatures will reach around 11°C at 1,200 meters and about 19°C at 2,000 meters.
Along the Black Sea coast, the weather will be more unsettled, with developing storm clouds bringing short periods of rain and thunderstorms. Moderate north-northeasterly winds are expected.
