Eight persons were arrested by the City Traffic police and their bikes seized for dangerous driving on Saturday. A senior official of the City Traffic police said based on City Police Commissioner A. Amalraj’s direction to curb racing and stunts by two-wheelers in the city, a team of Washermenpet traffic investigation police arrested eight individuals, including Mugilvanan, 23, Karthik, 23, Kaviyarasan, 20, Vishwa, 20, Dhanush, 22, Sarun, 21, Mosai Ebinezan, and Mahesh, 20. All of them hail from Tondiarpet. They were held for performing stunts and driving in a dangerous manner causing nuisance to pedestrians on Saturday. The police team also seized eight two-wheelers, including six high-end racing bikes. The Chennai City Traffic Police announced that strict legal action will be taken against those who operate vehicles at high speeds and in a dangerous manner under the guise of performing stunts, threatening the public or damaging public property, the police official added.
