Three men were arrested by the Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP) for allegedly riding motorcycles at high speed and performing dangerous stunts on the 100 Feet Road in Vadapalani.According to the police, the incident occurred in the early hours of August 7, 2026, when a group of around five two-wheeler riders allegedly raced against each other and overtook one another in a dangerous manner.A case was registered at the Pondy Bazaar Traffic Investigation Wing police station. A police team led by the station inspector examined CCTV footage from the area and identified the riders.The accused were arrested on Tuesday (August 11) and identified as Sasikumar (20) of Arumbakkam, K. Kathirvel (19) of Choolaimedu, and R. Kathirvel (19) of Villupuram district. The police seized a Yamaha R15 and a Honda Dio allegedly used in the incident.The three accused, who were employed with private companies, were produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody.The police said efforts were on to trace the other persons involved in the incident. The Traffic Police warned that strict action would be taken against those riding vehicles dangerously or at high speed in the name of performing stunts, particularly when such acts endanger public safety or damage public property.
