Madurai City Traffic Police have seized 10 motorbikes on charges of minor children riding them without driving licence on Sunday night.The police have booked their parents/guardians and the vehicle owners under the provisions of Motor Vehicle Act for letting children without license to ride bikes.A statement said that based on the instruction of Commissioner of Police, S. Rajenthiran, the traffic police conducted a vehicle check on Sunday night at Tallakulam, Thilagar Thidal, Tideer Nagar, Chinthamani, South Gate, Vilakkuthoon, Anna Nagar, S.S. Colony and Teppakulam police station limits.The statement said that parents/guardians and vehicle owners would be booked as accused under Section 199-A of Motor Vehicle Act for allowing children without driving licence to use the vehicles.The accused could get upto three years of jail, ₹25,000 fine and suspension of vehicle registration for one year.
