Sir, – I note that in your editorial (June 20th) you finish with “Ten years on from the Brexit referendum, the costs of that disastrous decision continue to loom large.”I feel this is a simplification. Although Brexit has definitely slowed down growth in the UK over the last 10 years, I would argue that it was more a “symptom” of a deeper problem rather than a cause of a social and economic malaise – and dare I say will arrive at our shores with the next economic downturn.
