Rail travelers will face disruptions in services between Athens and Thessaloniki from June 22-24 due to line repairs between the stations of Lianokladi and Larissa in central Greece, railway operator Hellenic Train said.
The repairs are part of a project to address damage in Thessaly caused by flooding in previous years. Travelers will cover the route from Lianokladi to Thessaloniki and vice-versa on coaches laid on by Hellenic Train.
Trains from Athens heading north will stop at Lianokladi, with passengers boarding buses there either for Thessaloniki, Platy, Katerini or Paleofarsalo and Larissa. There will also be two buses daily from Paleofarsalo making stops in Larissa, Katerini, Platy and Thessaloniki.
Travelers heading south from Thessaloniki, Platy, Katerini and Larissa will board buses to Lianokladi and then get on south-bound trains, while two buses daily from Thessaloniki will make stops at Platy, Katerini, Larissa, Paleofarsalos and Lianokladi.
Suburban rail schedules between Thessaloniki and Larissa will not be affected.
