On Wednesday, June 17, weather conditions across Bulgaria will be mostly stable in lowland areas, while mountainous regions are expected to see increased instability with localized thunderstorms and short-lived but potentially intense rainfall.
Over the Rila-Rhodope region, as well as parts of the Western and Central Balkan Mountains, cloud development will intensify around midday and in the afternoon. Cumulus and cumulonimbus formations will dominate, bringing scattered precipitation accompanied by thunder and a risk of hail in some areas. In contrast, most other regions of the country will experience predominantly sunny weather throughout the day.
Wind conditions will remain generally light. A northwesterly flow will prevail over much of the country, while eastern areas will see winds coming from the southeast. Daytime temperatures are expected to range between 25°C and 30°C, with slightly cooler conditions along the Black Sea coast. In Sofia, the maximum temperature will be around 26°C.
Mountain areas will see more pronounced cloud activity throughout the day, especially after midday. Short-lived showers and thunderstorms will occur in many locations. Winds at higher elevations will remain light to moderate from the northwest. Temperatures will reach around 20°C at 1200 meters and about 12°C at 2000 meters altitude.
