The weather in Bulgaria on Wednesday is expected to remain unstable and variable, according to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH), with conditions shifting between sunshine, cloud cover, and localized thunderstorms throughout the day. The forecast indicates that atmospheric instability will be most pronounced in the western, central, and northeastern parts of the country after midday.
In the morning hours, rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in the Danube Plain, while other regions will generally see more stable and mostly sunny conditions. However, this temporary calm will not last, as cloud development is forecast to intensify around and after noon, bringing short-lived but locally significant rainfall and thunderstorm activity across much of the interior.
Despite the unsettled conditions, temperatures will remain relatively high. Daily highs are expected to range between 30°C and 35°C in most areas, with Sofia reaching around 30°C. Forecasters note a slight decrease in temperatures compared to previous days, although the heat will still be noticeable, particularly in lowland regions.
In the southeastern part of the country, weather conditions will be more favorable, with predominantly sunny skies expected throughout the day. Winds will generally be light to moderate, coming from the east, contributing to slightly more stable conditions along the southern and southeastern zones.
