Media personality Molemo ‘Jub Jub’ Maarohanye is expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, following his arrest in connection with an alleged kidnapping and shooting incident involving an e-hailing driver in Edenvale.
The 45-year-old was arrested on Sunday and faces charges of kidnapping, unlawful discharge of a firearm, and defeating the ends of justice.
According to police, the incident unfolded after an e-hailing driver dropped off a female passenger at a residence in Edenvale.
Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said Maarohanye allegedly confronted the driver, accusing him of having a romantic relationship with his girlfriend.
“It is alleged that at approximately 7.30am, the e-hailing driver had transported a female passenger to a residence in Edenvale when he was confronted by the suspect, who accused him of being involved in a romantic relationship with his girlfriend,” Mathe said.
