Gauteng police have arrested a 45-year-old man after an e-hailing driver allegedly survived a terrifying ordeal in which he was kidnapped and shot at after dropping off a female passenger in Edenvale.
While police did not identify the suspect, reports have linked the arrest to media personality and television presenter Molemo Katleho Maarohanye, popularly known as Jub Jub.
The incident unfolded on Sunday morning when the driver transported a woman to a residential property in Edenvale.
According to Gauteng police spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, the driver was confronted by a man who accused him of having a romantic relationship with his girlfriend.
"It is alleged that at approximately 7.30am, the e-hailing driver had transported a female passenger to a residence in Edenvale when he was confronted by the suspect, who accused him of being involved in a romantic relationship with his girlfriend," said Sibeko.
