Heavy rain, thunderstorms and hail struck parts of central and northern Greece on Friday as a spell of severe weather moved across the country, prompting fresh warnings from meteorologists.
Storms accompanied by frequent lightning affected northeastern Attica, with the weather system expected to spread across a wider area of the region during the evening.
Northern Attica recorded rainfall of up to 50 millimeters in places.
The bad weather also hit Thessaly and Central Greece, where heavy downpours and localized hail were reported around Larissa.
According to an orange warning from the National Meteorological Service, severe weather is expected to continue through Friday night and into early Saturday in parts of Macedonia, Thrace, Thessaly, Evia, the Sporades and islands of the northeastern Aegean.
