Unsettled weather will affect parts of northern and eastern Greece on Friday, with periods of cloud cover, local showers and isolated thunderstorms expected, mainly in the morning, according to the National Meteorological Service.
The most active conditions will be in central and eastern Macedonia, Thrace, the northern Aegean islands, eastern mainland Greece and Evia, where passing clouds will bring scattered rain and brief storms.
In the rest of the country, weather will generally remain fair. However, afternoon cloud buildup may trigger isolated showers and thunderstorms over inland areas of central and southern Greece, including the Peloponnese, as well as parts of Crete, mainly in mountainous regions.
Visibility may be locally reduced in the early morning, especially in western Greece. Winds will blow from the north at 3 to 5 Beaufort, reaching up to 6 Beaufort in parts of the Aegean before easing later in the day in western and northern areas. Temperatures will dip slightly, particularly in the east, with highs of 26 to 28 degrees Celsius, and locally up to 30 degrees in central mainland areas.
In Athens, partly cloudy skies with brief showers are expected through midday. Thessaloniki will see mostly fair conditions, with a chance of light showers in nearby mountains later in the day.
