Greece will see mostly sunny weather on Thursday, with high temperatures and dry conditions keeping wildfire risk elevated across several regions, while afternoon showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop over parts of the mainland.
Particularly in the mountainous regions of central and northern Greece, brief afternoon cloud cover is expected to develop, bringing localized showers and isolated thunderstorms. Most island areas are expected to remain dry.
Winds will blow from the west and northwest at 3 to 5 Beaufort, strengthening locally to 6 Beaufort in southern parts of the country.
Temperatures will remain high, reaching 30-33 degrees Celsius in the Cyclades, northern Crete, the eastern Aegean islands and the Dodecanese. Elsewhere, highs will range between 34 and 36 degrees, with some inland areas expected to reach 37 degrees.
Athens will remain mostly sunny, with only a slight chance of brief showers over the northern hills during the afternoon.
