The owner of a kiosk in central Athens and a staffer have been arrested for allegedly running a profitable but illegal side-line in marijuana, authorities said Wednesday.

A police statement said the racket was rumbled on Monday afternoon, when officers patrolling the Omonia Square area allegedly caught the kiosk employee in the act of selling a small quantity of marijuana to a customer.

The statement said police searched the kiosk and confiscated 250 grams of marijuana, as well as a small quantity of cannabis oil for vaping.

The kiosk owner, his employee and the customer were all taken into custody and faced charges of drugs laws violations.
