Police arrested three men in Athens on drug trafficking charges after seizing large quantities of cocaine and cannabis in coordinated raids across the capital.

The suspects, aged 36, 53 and 56, were detained by the Drug Enforcement Sub-Directorate following surveillance, intelligence gathering and profiling.

Investigators said the 36-year-old was seen on May 14 delivering a bag containing more than 2 kilograms of hydroponic cannabis and 1 kilogram of processed cannabis to the 53-year-old, allegedly acting on behalf of the 56-year-old.

Shortly afterward, officers located the 56-year-old in another area of Athens in possession of cocaine intended for distribution.

Subsequent searches of homes and vehicles linked to the suspects uncovered about 11 kilograms of cocaine and 38 kilograms of cannabis in total. Police said nearly 11 kilograms of cocaine, along with additional processed and raw cannabis, were found at the 36-year-old’s residence, while 17.5 kilograms of hydroponic cannabis were seized from the 53-year-old’s home.
