A spot check in central Athens has led to the arrest of two people for allegedly dealing in marijuana while possessing a couple of swords and a score of knives, police said Monday.
A police statement said the crackdown started when a motorcycle police patrol stopped a 24-year-old man in the central Kypseli district last week, searched him and discovered a small quantity of marijuana on his person.
A subsequent search of his home revealed 4.2 kilograms of marijuana, two pairs of precision scales, a couple of swords and 20 knives.
A 47-year-old woman located in the apartment was also arrested.
