The problem building on Punt Road, Philippi.
While the suspects are still at large following the murder of a car guard in Strandfontein, irate residents are calling on authorities to provide clarity over when a house deemed a problem building will be demolished, after the land became the property of the Department of Land Reform and Rural Development and Land Reform (DLRRD).
The Community Policing Forum (CPF) confirmed that numerous raids were conducted at the premises located at 57 Punt Road, Philippi, which is a known drug den.
Residents, together with ward councillor Elton Jansen and Strandfontein CPF chairperson, Sandy Schuter-Flowers, have been lobbying for years to have answers over when the matter would be resolved.
The drug den's illegal activities have spilled over into Strandfontein, with criminals and drug users making use of a shortcut through a wall that separates the two communities.
