Telangana marked its 12th State Formation Day on Tuesday with celebrations across police establishments and government offices in Hyderabad, with senior officials paying tribute to the martyrs of the Telangana movement and highlighting the State’s progress since its formation in 2014.Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy honoured police personnel for acts of bravery and distinguished service at the main function on Parade Ground in the presence of DGP C.V. Anand. During the event, 17 police officers and personnel who were awarded Gallantry Medals were felicitated, while a police constable who received the Jeevan Raksha Padak for life-saving acts was also honoured.At the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate Parade Ground, Commissioner M. Ramesh unfurled the National Flag and received a Guard of Honour. Addressing police personnel, he said public safety was the foundation of development and noted that Telangana had emerged as a national model in areas such as infrastructure, economic growth and policing.Several police personnel were presented with Mahonnatha Seva, Uthama Seva and Seva medals during the ceremony.Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police S. Ravikumar and Reserve Sub-Inspector G. Ashok were selected for the Mahonnatha Seva Medal, while SIs K. Srinivas, S. Rambabu, and Mohammed Haji Miya, along with ARSI Krishna Naredla and ASI V. Venkata Suryanarayana Raju, were selected for the Uthama Seva Medals. Similarly, another 37 officers and personnel from the Cyberabad police were selected for the Seva Medals.
