Police departments across Hyderabad and Telangana marked the 80th Independence Day on Saturday with flag-hoisting ceremonies and parades, with senior officers highlighting technology-driven policing, public safety, narcotics enforcement and prison reforms.Several police officers and personnel were also honoured by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Independence Day with various awards recognising exemplary and meritorious service. The honours were presented in recognition of their dedication, professional conduct and contribution to policing and public service.At the DGP office in Lakdikapul, IG (Multi-Zone-II) Shahnawaz Qasim hoisted the national flag in the presence of senior officers and staff.

At the CAR Headquarters in Petlaburj, Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar unfurled the national flag and received the Guard of Honour. He paid tributes to freedom fighters and martyrs and presented certificates of appreciation to 72 police personnel for meritorious service.
