As many as 18 personnel from the Telangana Police and Fire Services Department have been selected for medals for distinguished, meritorious and gallant service on the eve of Independence Day 2026.Two police officers have been awarded the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service — R. Jagadishwar Reddy, SP, Main Intelligence, Hyderabad, and Narsaiah Jogula, Additional DCP, Secunderabad Zone.The 10 police personnel selected for the Medal for Meritorious Service are P. Venkata Ramana, Additional DCP (Admin), Karimnagar; R.G. Siva Maruthi, ACP, Cyber Crimes, Hyderabad; Ashala Gangaram, ACP, CTC, Cyberabad; B. Ravi Kumar Reddy, DSP, Vigilance & Enforcement, Hyderabad Rural-II; Bachalakuri Ramesh, DSP, TG EAGLE Force, Hyderabad; B. Srinivas Rao, DSP, CID, RO Sangareddy; D. Satyanarayana, Assistant Commandant, 8th Battalion, TGSP, Kondapur; P. Jagadeeshwar, Inspector of Police, EOW Cyberabad; C. Ramulu, Head Constable, OCTOPUS; and Kurapati Thirupathi Raju, Head Constable, PTO, Hyderabad.Medipalli Yadaiah, a Home Guard with Greyhounds, has also received the Medal for Meritorious Service.Three Greyhounds personnel, B. Sathya Rao, K. Sandeep Kumar and J. Vamshi Krishna, have been awarded the Medal for Gallantry.Also, two personnel of the Telangana Fire, Disaster Response, Emergency and Civil Defence Department have been awarded the Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service.M. Ashok, Leading Fire Fighter at Ichoda Fire Station in Adilabad district, and T. Narasimha Chary, Leading Fire Fighter at Sircilla Fire Station in Rajanna-Siricilla district, were recognised for their dedicated service. The awards recognise personnel for distinguished and meritorious service, as well as gallantry, and acknowledge their contribution to protecting lives and property.
