More than a thousand police personnel will be deployed for security and traffic management during the 13th Telangana Formation Day celebrations to be held at Parade Ground, Secunderabad, on Tuesday (June 2).Around 6,000 invitees are expected to participate in the event where Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy would be inspecting the parade and attend the programme, scheduled between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.According to Malkajgiri Police Commissioner B. Sumathi, elaborate bandobust arrangements have been made with the deployment of 1,140 personnel, including 507 law and order staff, 358 traffic personnel, 125 City Security Wing personnel, 90 Armed Reserve personnel and four platoons of the Telangana Special Police.The security arrangements are being supervised by three deputy commissioners of police, four additional deputy commissioners of police, eight assistant commissioners of police, 49 inspectors and 88 sub-inspectors. They will be assisted by 723 assistant sub-inspectors, head constables, police constables and home guards. Four battalion platoons, four Armed Reserve platoons, OCTOPUS teams, Special Operations Teams, intelligence personnel, IT and communication teams, command control teams, bomb disposal squads and sniffer dog squads have also been deployed.Police urged all invitees to reach the venue before 7.30 a.m. and occupy their allotted seats. Entry will be allowed only after anti-sabotage checks and screening through security equipment at the designated gates.According to the arrangements, AA pass holders will enter through Gate No. 6, A1 pass holders through Gate No. 8, A2 pass holders through Gate No. 4, B1 pass holders through Gate No. 7, B2 pass holders through Gate No. 8, C Block invitees through Gate No. 2 and F Block invitees through Gates No. 10 and 11. Media personnel have been directed to use Gate No. 4.Police have advised invitees to carry their original invitation cards or passes for verification. Weapons, sharp objects, inflammable materials, fireworks, drones, laser lights and other prohibited articles will not be permitted inside the venue.Five parking areas have been earmarked for visitors, including Gymkhana Ground for AA pass holders, while Bison Polo Ground, the MES Chief Engineer Office parking area and Centenary High School near Sweekar Upkar have been designated for other invitees.Traffic restrictions and diversions will be in force on roads leading to Parade Ground between 7 a.m. and 12 noon. Commuters travelling through Begumpet, Secunderabad, Trimulgherry, Bowenpally, Tank Bund and surrounding areas have been advised to use alternative routes and plan their journeys in advance.Police said traffic diversions would be implemented based on traffic flow and security requirements.
