Telangana marked its 12th formation on Tuesday, June 2, with celebrations across the State, reflecting on the journey since its creation and highlighting the ongoing development initiatives.At the Formation Day celebrations held at Lok Bhavan, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said Telangana was steadily emerging as a model of inclusive, equitable and sustainable development.Addressing the gathering, he remarked that ‘Jai Telangana’ was not a mere slogan but a symbol of the movement for self-respect, unity and identity that led to the formation of the State. During the event, the Governor felicitated Lok Bhavan Chief Security Officers Srinivas and Mattaiah, who were recently selected for the President’s Distinguished Service Medal and the Service Medal respectively.In Sangareddy, Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha distributed laptops to visually impaired students. The Minister also handed over cheques worth ₹69.19 crore to 768 Self-Help Groups under the bank linkage loan scheme. Identity cards were distributed to members of the transgender community as part of the programme.
