Traffic restrictions and diversions will be imposed around Parade Ground, Secunderabad, on Tuesday (June 2), in view of Telangana Formation Day celebrations to be attended by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.According to the Malkajgiri Traffic Police, elaborate traffic arrangements have been made between 7 a.m. and 12 noon to ensure smooth conduct of the event and regulate vehicular movement in and around the venue. Traffic congestion is expected on roads leading to Parade Ground and surrounding areas due to large gatherings.Commuters travelling from Begumpet towards Sangeeth Junction have been advised to use the Paradise, Patny and Clock Tower route. Those travelling between Begumpet and Trimulgherry are asked to use the flyovers and then turn at St John’s Rotary to go via Shenoy and AOC. Vehicles travelling between Sangeeth Junction and Panjagutta have been advised to take the Clock Tower, Patny, Ghasmandi, Karbala, Tank Bund and Khairatabad route.Motorists travelling from Secunderabad towards Trimulgherry have been advised to use the Clock Tower, Sangeeth, St John’s Rotary, Shenoy, AOC and KV route, while those heading towards Bowenpally are asked to travel via Patny, Paradise and CTO. Vehicles from Bowenpally towards Secunderabad have been advised to take the Brook Bond, Tivoli, Sweekar Upkar and YMCA route.Traffic from Tank Bund towards Trimulgherry will be diverted through Paradise, CTO, Tadbund, Diamond Point and Bowenpally Market, while vehicles travelling in the opposite direction have been advised to use the NCC, Picket, Sweekar Upkar, YMCA, Clock Tower, Patny, Ghasmandi and Karbala route before reaching Tank Bund.Police have advised commuters to use Metro Rail services and other public transport systems wherever possible. Heavy vehicles, RTC buses and private travel buses have been asked to avoid routes leading to the venue between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m.Roadside parking will not be permitted and unauthorised vehicles parked along the routes will be towed. Four designated parking areas have been earmarked for visitors attending the celebrations.The restrictions and diversions will be lifted immediately after the completion of the programme.
