A heated dispute between two men in central Athens has led to the seizure of nearly nine kilograms of marijuana in a suitcase left on the staircase of a bloc of flats, police said Thursday.
A police statement said officers were called to the apartment block in the Aghios Panteleimon neighborhood over a noisy altercation, located the two men and decided to investigate them a bit more closely.
A suitcase belonging to the two was located on the building’s staircase and found to contain the marijuana, as well as a small quantity of cocaine and a pair of precision scales.
The suspects, identified as foreign nationals aged 22 and 21, face drugs-related charges.
