The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) is the agency in charge of policy development and the implementation of the national budget, working towards a better and more efficient use of government financing and resources to achieve the country’s development objectives.

The DBM started as the Budget Commission on April 25, 1936, when President Manuel Quezon signed Executive Order No. 25.

The department is led by the Secretary of Budget and Management, who is appointed by the President and confirmed by Congress through the Commission on Appointments.
