MANILA, Philippines – The Marcos administration has released nearly 90 percent of this year’s national budget as of end-June, accelerating government spending in a bid to boost economic growth.

Latest data from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) showed that allotments worth P6.108 trillion had been released in the first six months, equivalent to 89.9 percent of the P6.793-trillion 2026 national budget. This leaves about P684.6 billion still to be released in the remaining six months of the year.

Notably, Executive Secretary Ralph Recto in mid-June directed government agencies to speed up the implementation of programs and projects to ensure timely utilization of public funds ahead of the 2027 national budget deliberations.
