MANILA, Philippines — The national government’s cash utilization improved at the start of the second half of the year as the Marcos administration sought to ramp up spending to support economic growth, latest data from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) showed.

According to the DBM’s latest Notices of Cash Allocation (NCA) report, the government’s utilization rate improved to 94.6 percent as of end-July, equivalent to P2.955 trillion used out of the P3.125 trillion released. The rate was better than the 94 percent recorded in the same period last year.
