MANILA, Philippines – The national government has now disbursed 87.7 percent of the P6.793-trillion 2026 national budget as of end-May, latest data from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) showed.

The pace, however, remains slower than the 90.4 percent disbursement rate recorded in the same period last year, as the government scaled back releases to executive departments.

According to the DBM’s Status of Allotment Release, the government released a total of P5.958 trillion in the first five months of the year, leaving around P835 billion in unreleased allotments.FEATURED STORIES
