The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) is implementing rotational brownouts, lasting about three hours each between 2 p.m. and 12 a.m., on Friday afternoon until evening as power supply deficiency crippled the Luzon grid.

Following the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines’ (NGCP) hoisting of a series of yellow and red alerts, Meralco scheduled seven groups of manual load droppings or rotating brownouts.
