The A20 Pro is Apple's first 2nm iPhone chip, built on TSMC's N2 process and announced on 9 September 2026 in the iPhone 18 Pro. It pairs a 6-core CPU with a 7-core GPU and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine totalling 32 cores. Memory bandwidth rises 50 per cent, and sustained speed rises up to 40 per cent.

It's a chance for Apple to widen the gap

Apple's A20 Pro chip uses TSMC's 2nm process, promising 10-15% speed gains and 25-30% power savings for the iPhone 18 Pro and foldable iPhone.
