Human rights lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju, has criticised the heavy deployment of security personnel at the Federal High Court in Abuja during proceedings involving activist and presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, describing the development as an alarming display of militarisation that has no place in a democratic society.

Sowore has been standing trial on allegations brought by the Department of State Services (DSS) linked to those public statements, charges he has consistently denied.
