The level of the Danube River continues to decline along Bulgaria’s section, with the largest drop over the past 24 hours recorded near Ruse and Silistra.
Data from the Executive Agency for Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River show that water levels have fallen at individual monitoring stations across the Bulgarian stretch of the river. The declines range between 1 and 4 centimeters, with the most significant decrease recorded at the Ruse and Silistra water gauge stations.
Despite the continued fall in water levels, no new vessels have become stuck in or outside the shipping channel over the past 24 hours, according to the River Supervision Directorate.
However, all existing restrictions on vessel draft remain in effect along the entire Bulgarian section of the Danube.
Authorities describe the hydrological situation as “complicated” as water levels continue to decline and navigation remains subject to restrictions.
