The level of the Danube River has fallen by between 1 and 2 centimeters at several water gauging stations along the Bulgarian section, while readings in Ruse and Silistra have remained unchanged over the past 24 hours.
Data from the Executive Agency for Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River show decreases at Novo Selo, Vidin, Lom, Oryahovo, Nikopol and Svishtov. At the same time, the water level has stagnated at the gauging stations in Ruse and Silistra.
Despite the continued low water levels, no vessels have run aground either in or outside the navigation channel during the past 24 hours, according to the River Supervision Directorate.
However, navigation remains subject to all restrictions currently in force along the entire Bulgarian section of the Danube.
The authorities continue to describe the hydrological situation as complicated, as the river remains at exceptionally low levels in a number of locations.
