Sunny weather will prevail across Bulgaria on Thursday, September 10, although some areas can expect brief rain and thunderstorms later in the day, according to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology.
Temperatures will continue to rise, with daytime highs ranging between 28°C and 33°C. In the far southwestern parts of the country, temperatures could reach as high as 35°C, while Sofia is expected to see around 32°C.
Some low clouds may form in parts of the far eastern regions before noon. During the afternoon, however, cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds are expected to develop, mainly over the mountains of Western Bulgaria. Short-lived showers and thunderstorms are possible in some areas.
Winds will generally be light and come from the east-southeast, becoming moderate in eastern Bulgaria. In the northwestern regions, the wind will be weak and blow from the northeast.
The mountains will also see mostly sunny conditions during the day. In the afternoon, cloud cover will increase mainly over the massifs of Western Bulgaria, bringing the possibility of brief showers and thunderstorms in isolated areas.
