Four police officers will stand trial over the fatal stabbing in April 2024 of Kyriaki Griva, 28, outside the Agioi Anargyroi police station, a judicial council ruled on Tuesday.

The man convicted of the killing, her former partner, was sentenced to life in a separate trial.

According to the council’s ruling, Griva arrived at the station with a friend, saying her ex-partner was outside her home and she feared returning.

She asked for a patrol car escort but left the station and called emergency services, repeating her fear. A dispatcher told her “a patrol car is not a taxi.”

Minutes later, the attacker approached on foot with a knife while Griva stood 1.5 meters from the station’s guard post.
