A female police officer has been fatally stabbed in her home in northern Greece, shortly before her husband, also a member of the force, was located dead in his car with a gunshot wound.
Authorities believe the 50-year-old man was responsible for his wife’s death and then proceeded to fatally shoot himself.
Rescuers found the critically injured 40-year-old woman in the basement of the couple’s house in the town of Drama, after her child reportedly notified authorities, and took her to hospital where she succumbed to her wounds.
Her husband was not at home, and his body was located later on by a passer-by who alerted the police.
