Preliminary investigations indicate that the couple, both serving police officers, were involved in an altercation at their residence before gunshots rang out.
A police sergeant in Parsonsvlei, Gqeberha, allegedly shot his wife before taking his own life, in a tragic incident witnessed by their two children.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight on Saturday.
According to the Eastern Cape SAPS, preliminary investigations indicate that the couple, both serving police officers, were involved in an altercation at their residence before gunshots rang out.
When police arrived at the scene at about 00:05, they discovered the bodies of a 34-year-old female sergeant attached to Mount Road SAPS and her 44-year-old husband, a sergeant stationed at New Brighton SAPS.
