A police sergeant allegedly shot and killed his wife before taking his own life in a shocking murder-suicide that unfolded in front of two children at the couple's home in Parsonsvlei, Gqeberha.
The tragedy occurred shortly after midnight on Saturday, July 18.
According to the Eastern Cape SAPS, preliminary investigations indicate that the couple, both serving police officers, were involved in an altercation at their residence before gunshots rang out.
When police arrived at the scene at about 00:05, they discovered the bodies of a 34-year-old female sergeant attached to Mount Road SAPS and her 44-year-old husband, a sergeant stationed at New Brighton SAPS.
