A total of 245 combat engagements between Ukrainian defenders and Russia's invading forces were recorded along the front line on September 5, with 43 of the attacks taking place on the Pokrovsk front.
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said this in a Facebook update on the situation as of 08:00 on Sunday, September 6.
Over the past day, Russian forces carried out 87 airstrikes, dropping 288 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the invaders used 8,340 kamikaze drones and launched 2,389 attacks on populated areas and Ukrainian military positions, including 32 using multiple launch rocket systems.
Russian forces shelled, among other places, the settlements of Bachivsk, Bezsalivka, Koreniok, Ulanove, Iskryskivshchyna, Malushyne, Neskuchne, Rohizne, Atynske, Volfyne, Nova Sich, Tovstodubove, Mala Slobidka, Esman, Starykove and Yastrubshchyna in the Sumy region, as well as Leonivka and Lohy in the Chernihiv region. Vilna Sloboda was hit by an airstrike.
Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation, missile forces and artillery struck three areas where Russian personnel were concentrated, three UAV command posts, one important facility and two command posts belonging to the invading forces.
