Crime activists in Kraaifontein are demanding greater communication and cooperation from police as a surge in gun violence leaves families grieving and residents increasingly fearful.
The latest shooting happened in broad daylight on Saturday afternoon when three people were shot in Dlali Street, Wallacedene.
Two men, aged 25 and 29, were killed after sustaining gunshot wounds to their heads. A third man, aged 30, was shot in the right hand and taken to a medical facility for treatment.
The shooting, which happened at about 1.15pm, left residents shocked as the victims were found lying on the sidewalk.
Provincial police spokesperson Constable Ndakhe Gwala confirmed that Kraaifontein police are investigating two murders and an attempted murder.
