Steenberg residents witnessed two fatalities and three injuries from separate shootings, sparking urgent police investigations.
Police have opened murder investigations into both incidents, which occurred hours apart in Lavender Hill and Cafda, Retreat on July 15.
Steenberg police have registered a case of murder and three counts of attempted murder following a shooting in Beethoven Street, Retreat, at about 8.40pm.
According to reports, the victims were attending a memorial service for a man who was shot dead on July 3 at an open field. As they were packing up and preparing to leave, a white Mercedes-Benz AMG with a black roof stopped, and five suspects emerged from the vehicle, opening fire on the attendees.
