The community of Manenberg is reeling in shock after six people were shot including a police officer.
The community of Manenberg is mourning a young life lost in a gang-related shooting and local leaders have called for unity against crime.
A 22-year-old man and and five others, including a police officer, injured on June 17.
According to police, the incident occurred in Rio Grande Walk when occupants of a silver-grey vehicle allegedly stopped and opened fire on people gathered outside the premises.
Four men aged 24, 35, 36 and 48, as well as a 56-year-old woman, were injured in the shooting and taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. Police officers patrolling the area responded after hearing gunshots, but allegedly came under fire when they arrived at the scene.
