Eleven people have been shot dead in three separate incidents in and around Cape Town.
At least eleven people have been killed in three separate shootings in and around Cape Town since Sunday night. Police have yet to determine the motives behind these attacks, and no arrests have been made.
The deadliest incident occurred in NY50, Gugulethu, during the early hours of Monday morning. Police spokesperson Colonel André Traut confirmed that detectives from the Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Unit are investigating the multiple murders and an attempted murder, following the deaths of five individuals and injuries to another.
Traut said police responded to reports of a shooting at a residence and found the victims with multiple gunshot wounds.
Four men and a woman, aged between 19 and 23, were declared dead at the scene by medical personnel.
