The Danube River has risen by up to 9 centimeters along parts of Bulgaria's section over the past 24 hours, but navigation remains difficult, with all existing restrictions still in place.
According to current data from the Executive Agency for Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River as of August 29, the river level has increased at most monitoring stations in the western and central parts of the Bulgarian section.
The largest rise was recorded at Lom, where the water level increased by 9 centimeters. Vidin registered a 7-centimeter rise, while the level at Novo Selo went up by 6 centimeters. Smaller increases were reported at Oryahovo, by 4 centimeters, and Nikopol, by 2 centimeters. The level at Svishtov remained unchanged.
The situation is different farther east, where the river continues to recede. The water level at Ruse fell by 7 centimeters over the past day, while Silistra recorded a decrease of 1 centimeter.
Despite the rises at several locations, navigation conditions along the Bulgarian stretch remain complicated. The River Supervision Directorate reported that no vessels had become stranded either inside or outside the navigation channel during the previous 24 hours.
