A man with a reported history of domestic violence has been arrested on suspicion of having fatally stabbed his wife Wednesday in a village in northern Greece, police said.
The 53-year-old suspect was hospitalised for injuries he reportedly caused himself with a knife after stabbing his 44-year-old wife. The couple’s 24-year-old daughter alerted police to the incident at Dialambi in the Rodopi region.
Reports said that the victim had lodged a complaint with police four years ago concerning alleged threatening behavior by the suspect.
